Dimensions of Sprocket

Sprockets is usually classified into normal sprockets, HK sprockets and also other sprockets.
one. Normal sprocket
Common sprockets are ANSI sprockets which could be engaged with standard series roller chains. See P125 for dimensions.
You’ll find two forms of tooth profiles: U-tooth and S-tooth.
2. HK sprocket
HK sprockets may be engaged with HK series roller chains, and individuals for single strand chains are identical to standard sprockets. However, sprockets for a number of strand chains are various from common sprockets in sprocket tooth profile.
3. Other sprockets
Other sprockets are created in accordance for the following calculation formulas to suit respective specialty chains.
The sprockets applied to the following chains will be the similar as the typical sprockets in tooth gap form, but different in tooth thickness (sprocket tooth profile).
four. Calculation of sprocket dimensions
The dimensions of regular sprockets along with other standard sprockets are calculated as follows. At first, the diameters of sprockets are calculated through the following calculation formulas.
Next, sprocket tooth profile (the form in the tooth depending on its thickness) is calculated from the following calculation formulas. (The values proven in the following pages were calculated by these formulas and regarded as the regular values.)

Calculation of pitch diameter, tip diameter and caliper diameter
The essential dimensions of the sprocket ideal for a chain pitch of 1 mm are respectively named pitch diameter issue, tip diameter aspect and caliper diameter element. Calculation formulas for tooth gap types
